TODO! Award for Socially Responsible Tourism
The TODO! Award searches the globe for examples of the most socially responsible tourism projects. After an extensive, one week, inspection in Guludo in December 2009 the judges decided to give one of the two awards this year to Guludo Beach Lodge at ITB, Berlin, in March 2010.
Responsible Tourism Awards
These awards are the largest of their kind in the world, receiving thousands of nominations from around the globe each year. In November 2009 Guludo won the Responsible Tourism Award in the category of "Best for Poverty Reduction". Guludo has been highly commeneded in these awards twice before (2006, 2007).
Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year
Amy Carter-James (co-founder, nee Carter) was awarded the New Statesman "Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2006" which she received from UK Minister Ed Milliband.
Women in Ethical Business Awards
Amy Carter-James was one of three finalists in these prestigious awards in 2007.
British International Expertise Awards
Our architects Cullum & Nightingale won an Award for their design of Guludo Beach Lodge at the British International Expertise Awards in December 2005.
